SEO for your website you can do yourself

Search Engine Optimization, also called SEO, is optimizing websites for search engines like Google and Bing. This activity has become a complete commercial branch in itself. The following web tips will lift the veil for some part, absolutely free. Nothing is without a purpose, of course.

Writing a blog is also intended to optimize the website for the search engines. These web tips will improve a lot, but for your website to get the first position in Google's search results, there is much more to it. Optimizing for search engines is becoming less transparent by the growing complexity of the search engines.

Keywords

The search engines look for keywords on websites. The more often a particular keyword appears on a web page, the higher the position in the search results list. To investigate which keywords are most searched, go to: http://adwords.google.com/. With the Adwords program you can define your relevant keywords and use it in your website.

Web Page Title

The web page title appears at the top of the web browser. There you can place your website name and a short description of the content. Sometimes the web page title happens to be forgotten by the creator of the website and you only see "Home" as web page title. The shorter your webpage title is, the higher the weighting of each keyword contained therein. So don't make the title too long. A title of 5-10 words is therefore better than a title of 25 words.

Menu Links

Often forgotten, or they are not aware of it, is that the menu also can be used as keywords holder for search engine optimization. So instead of menu buttons, simple text links should be used which includes the keywords.

Content

Fill your website with relevant text because the search engine will also look at the relevance of keywords with the content. Per page you concentrate on about 3-5 relevant keywords that you place in the text. These keywords are to be repeated regularly in the text, at least 5 or 6 times. More often than only when it is relevant in the text, but not in such a way that it is only a repeated list of the keywords, because that will be seen as spam by the search engines. Websites that are suspected of spamming, are not included in the search engines or placed in a lower rank. The more text content your website has, the more keywords and possible higher placement.

Headings

Include keywords in the titles and headings in the text as well. The H1 and H2 HTML codes for the headings are important for search engines.

Images

In the coding tags ALT of the images, you can include keywords. Use keywords in this, because that is also seen by some search engines.

External weblinks

A very important part of search engine optimization are web links. The more you web links you have on your website to external website, the more valuable your website for the search engines. But the links must have relevance, or they will not be judged as meaningful links. More importantly, when there are many external sites linking to your website, you get a higher placement in the search results. The number of web links to your web site shows how important your web site is. You can generate web links to your website by posting a link to, for example, your blog on social media. You could also LIKE this blog via Facebook, or tweet it on Twitter, or share on LinkedIn, by using the social media buttons below.
